Hi Wencent,

PPC is easy in that you can sign up, give your credit card to Google, pick a few keywords and begin running your ads. For the common business man, this seems very simple.

But as many of us search professionals now, ad testing, proper account structure and keyword research can be long and tedious process. By no means is setting up a optimized account easy especially if you are trying to set up an account that provides you with maximum ROI.

Hi Liincoln and The guest poster - Ill try to answer both your questions in this post.

As for PPC besides Adwords, you can use either of the other two major engines, MSN and Yahoo. Both have decent interfaces and are relatively easy to use. Keep in mind that traffic on these engines is smaller then Google, so you may not see as many clicks and conversions. With this in mind, top keywords are often less expensive because there is less competition.

As for making money with PPC - you need to have a website to drive traffic to that converts well. PPC will let you display a link and ad to your website for competitive keywords you may not be able to rank for organically. You can select keywords that are relevant to your site, create eye catching ads and have the visitors land on your conversion page.

This should help you increase traffic and conversions.

I would not suggest beginners start IM with PPC.

First you need to understand the logic behind it before you start. Actually most of the beginners end up loosing a lot of money thinking that PPC is the fastest way to make profit. Ok, maybe it is the fastest, but for experienced users. Start first with article or video marketing and then work your way up. Improve first your analytics skills and maybe then you can start using PPC.
PPC is most effective way to rank high on the search engines, just submit your credit card to Google then choose some key words after a productive search and start running your adds. you have two major easy to use search engines to run PPC for your website that are Yahoo & MSN other then Google. To increase clicks and conversions make strong key words then surly visitors will land to your website as a perfect lead or conversion.

SEO is free but takes a much longer time to see results, while with paid traffic you can see and test the result relatively quickly.

That's right centarec. So many people jump in, target the entire nation for their local Karate Dojo (just made that up) and loose their money due to improper targeting and adspend. There are hundreds of videos on Youtube that will walk you through PPC (I would suggest typing in the date 2011 next to your query).
