What type of website do you have?

The first step would be to register it with the search engines.

If it's a blog start writing articles for your blog. Write them naturally - like you're talking to your best friend while sitting in a cafeteria having a cup of coffee. Make sure your articles contain high quality, and useful, content. When you write that way, and what you write is very useful to your readers, the SEO is pretty much built in.

Also write good quality, and very unique, articles to submit to article directories like Ezine Articles. Make sure they don't have duplicate content to what you post on your blog. In the author's bio at the end of the articles place a link back to your blog so people can go there for more information.

    That's a good start.

You stated that in your original post. My question is how are you presenting the business online? Don't you have a website?

First see where their stores are located.Take popular keyword like "pizza online" and make it long tail keyword like "pizza online Sydney" . Considering it is a long tail keyword it should be easy to do SEO and target popular keyword in their main page.

What Joe says is a good idea.

Also add social-media channels such as YouTube, FaceBook, Twitter, Pinterest, and use effective strategies for growing your followings and promoting yourself well on those.

Reviews are important for most businesses, so find ways to get people to talk about your business, such as offering a discount for a review posted on social-media, etc.
